Goethe B1 Speaking (Sprechen): model scripts + audio
The B1 Sprechen exam is three short parts, taken in pairs, in about 15 minutes. Below are full German model scripts for all three Teile — with useful phrases, English notes, recurring Teil 2 topics, and playable audio of each script.
Teil 1 — Plan something together
You and your partner want to set up a study group to prepare for the B1 exam. Plan it together: how often and when you will meet, where, and who brings what. Make the decisions together — suggest, agree, and push back.

Model script
A: Sollen wir eine Lerngruppe für die B1-Prüfung gründen? Zusammen lernt es sich leichter, finde ich.
B: Ja, super Idee! Wann wollen wir uns treffen — einmal oder zweimal pro Woche?
A: Ich schlage vor, dass wir uns zweimal treffen, dienstags und donnerstags. Was hältst du davon?
B: Zweimal ist vielleicht ein bisschen viel. Wäre es nicht besser, wenn wir erst einmal pro Woche anfangen?
A: Stimmt, das ist entspannter. Dann sagen wir donnerstags um 17 Uhr. Und wo treffen wir uns?
B: In der Bibliothek ist es ruhig, aber dort dürfen wir nicht sprechen. Vielleicht könnten wir auch in ein Café gehen?
A: Gute Idee. Das Café am Bahnhof hat einen ruhigen Raum. Und wer bringt was mit?
B: Ich kümmere mich um die Grammatikübungen. Bringst du vielleicht ein paar Beispiele fürs Schreiben mit?
A: Klar, mache ich. Und ich bringe Kekse mit — Lernen macht hungrig!
B: Perfekt, ich bin damit einverstanden. Bis Donnerstag dann!

Why it scores
- Both partners drive the plan — B pushes back ("Wäre es nicht besser …?") instead of only agreeing. Examiners reward a real negotiation, not two monologues.
- Every decision the task asks for is covered: how often, when, where, and who brings what.
- Short reactions (Stimmt, Klar, Gute Idee) keep it sounding like natural spoken German.
Teil 2 — Give a short presentation
Give a ~3-minute presentation of your assigned topic. Structure it: introduce the topic, share your own experience, describe the situation in your country, weigh advantages and disadvantages, give your opinion, and close. Here the topic is online shopping (Einkaufen im Internet).

Model script
Ich möchte heute über das Thema Einkaufen im Internet sprechen.
Aus eigener Erfahrung kann ich sagen, dass ich fast alles online kaufe — Kleidung, Bücher und manchmal sogar Lebensmittel. Es ist einfach praktisch, weil ich nach der Arbeit keine Zeit zum Einkaufen habe.
In meinem Heimatland ist es so, dass Online-Shopping in den letzten Jahren sehr beliebt geworden ist, besonders bei jungen Leuten.
Natürlich gibt es Vor- und Nachteile. Auf der einen Seite spart man Zeit und findet oft günstigere Preise. Auf der anderen Seite kann man die Produkte vorher nicht anfassen, und die vielen Pakete sind schlecht für die Umwelt.
Meiner Meinung nach ist Online-Shopping praktisch, aber man sollte trotzdem auch die kleinen Geschäfte in der Stadt unterstützen.
Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass das Internet das Einkaufen stark verändert hat — wir müssen nur bewusst damit umgehen.

Why it scores
- The talk follows the required B1 structure: introduction, own experience, situation in your country, pros and cons, opinion, and a closing summary.
- Connectors carry the structure: "Auf der einen Seite … auf der anderen Seite …" signals the pros/cons the examiner is listening for.
- It ends with a clear "Zusammenfassend …" so the examiner hears a real conclusion, not a talk that just stops.
Teil 3 — Talk about the presentation
Two halves: answer the questions your partner and the examiner ask about YOUR presentation, then react to your partner's — say what you found interesting, agree or disagree with one point, and ask one genuine follow-up question.

A: Das war eine sehr interessante Präsentation, danke! Besonders der Punkt mit den vielen Paketen und der Umwelt hat mir gefallen.
B: Danke! Ja, das finde ich auch wichtig.
A: Ich stimme dir zu, dass Online-Shopping praktisch ist. Mich hat aber überrascht, dass du sogar Lebensmittel online kaufst. Eine Frage hätte ich noch: Hast du keine Angst, dass die frischen Sachen schlecht ankommen?
B: Das ist ein guter Punkt. Bisher hatte ich Glück, aber einmal war das Gemüse wirklich nicht mehr frisch. Seitdem kaufe ich Obst und Gemüse lieber im Geschäft.
A: Das kann ich gut verstehen. Danke für deine Antwort!

- Teil 3 is short: give honest feedback, react to one specific point, and ask a real follow-up question — that question is what the examiner is waiting for.
- "Mich hat überrascht, dass …" plus a genuine question keeps it a conversation, not just praise.
